As we embark on this fresh journey in 2025, I’m excited to invite you to create your individual “Word of the Year.”
This practice has proven to be a powerful tool for personal and professional growth, and I believe it will continue to inspire us in 2025. Word of the Year has been a tradition in our family for many years.
Research in neuroscience and psychology supports that setting a focused intention, like a “Word of the Year,” can significantly enhance our motivation and brain function.
By consciously choosing a word that resonates with our goals and aspirations, we activate our prefrontal cortex, which helps us plan, make rational decisions, and take action toward our objectives. This intentional focus can lead to higher motivation, self-esteem, and self-confidence. And besides all of that… It’s fun!
Starting the year with a new word encourages us to be mindful and purposeful in our actions. It serves as a compass, guiding our decisions and helping us stay aligned with our core values and goals. The simplicity of having a single word allows us to maintain clarity and focus throughout the year, making it easier to achieve our desired outcomes.
This graphic is an example of our Team’s words of the year from 2024 in a Word cloud we designed for our office.
My word of the year for 2025 is “Celebrate.”
For me, it means celebrating all aspects of my life—the challenges as much as the successes—and finding gratitude and joy in every moment. It also allows me to be mindful in celebrating myself, which is not a ritual we are typically taught in society. In embracing celebration, the residual effects are harmony, peace, abundance, self-care, gratitude, and more.
I hope my example inspires you to create YOUR word with mindfulness and intention.
Let’s come together and share our words, supporting each other in manifesting our intentions and making 2025 a year of meaningful progress and success.
I’m looking forward to hearing your words and seeing the incredible impact they will have! Email it to me pamela@keyinstincts.com
